The above vacancies are provisional and may vary according to the actual requirements of the Bank.
Merit list will be drawn up State-wise, category-wise and candidates will be posted in the State fromwhere he/she is appearing for the written test
andwill not be entitled for inter/intra-state transfer in the first 10 years of service.However, candidates not getting selected in his/her domiciled state
can be asked to opt foranyotherdeficit state,atBank’sdiscretion.
The salient features are given here in below -
1. Scale of Pay : 4410-215/3-5055-335/3-6060-470/4-7940-500/3-9440-560/4-11680-970/1-12650-560/1-13210
2. Emoluments : The total starting emolument of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai will be around Rs. 8000/- per
month for Graduates inclusive of D.A. and other allowances at the current rate. Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting.
The new recruits must have flair for marketing and will be required to make customer calls and provide banking services, advisory services
and cross sell products etc. inside and outside Bank premises. The duties involve extensive outdoor travelling. Depending upon
requirement, there will be flexible working hours and working in shifts.
Note : "The Pension scheme of the Bank is under review. The new entrants may be entitled to such pension benefits, as may be
decided by the Bank, which shall be final and binding".
3. Educational Qualification (as on 01.10.2009)
A. “Minimum 12th standard (10+2) pass or equivalent qualification with a minimum of aggregate 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD/XS).
OR
Adegree froma recognised university (graduation level)with aminimumofaggregate 40%marks” (35%forSC/ST/PWD/XS).
Note :
Candidateswho have not passedXIIth standardExamination but have passedDiploma course afterXth standard are eligible for the captioned
recruitmentprovided:
i) Diploma Course passed must be a full time course with a minimum of Two Years Duration (Diploma course through correspondence are not
eligible).
ii) The Diploma course should be recognized/approved by the State Board of Technical Education of the concerned state.
iii) The percentage of marks in XIIth std/Diploma course shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all the
subjects by aggregate maximum marks of all subjects irrespective of optional/additional optional subjects studied. Similarly percentage
of marks in Graduation shall also be arrived at by dividing the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in all the subjects by
maximum marks of the course (both for pass/Honours course) for all the years of the course.
B. Matriculate Ex-Servicemen Candidates, who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate
in the Navy or theAir Force, after having completed not less than 15 years of service inArmed Forces of the Union are also eligible for the post.
C. Should be able to write and speak English fluently.
D. Knowledge of local language will be an added qualification.
4. Age :
a) Minimum Age : 18 years ; Maximum Age : 28 years (as on 01.10.2009.) Candidates born between 30.09.1981 & 01.10.1991 both days
inclusive are only eligible to apply.
b) The upper age limit will be relaxed as reservation.
HOW TO APPLY : Candidates are required to go to any CBS Branch of State Bank of India
and pay the amount of fees, postage and get receipt from the branch. The candidates are
required to apply online through website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. No
other means/mode of application will be accepted. The last date of registering applications
is 15.09.2009. Application registration on our website will be open from 01.08.2009 to
15.09.2009. GUIDELINES FOR FILLING APPLICATION ARE AS UNDER :
Candidates should have a valid email id. This will help him/ her in getting call letter/ interview
advices etc. E-mail ID should be kept active during the currency of this recruitment project.
Bank may send call letters for written test, interview etc. through the registered e-mail ID.
Candidates should have the Branch Code Number & Deposit Journal Number (on receipt of
payment of fees) from CBS branch of State Bank of India before applying online.
The payment of fees should be made on or before the 12.09.2009. This date will be same
for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas.
Candidates should keep a copy of the Application printout and Payment Receipt (Deposit
Journal Number) for their record. An 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet will be sent to the
candidates along with the call letter for written test. Candidates serving in
Government/Quasi Government offices, Public Sector undertaking including
Nationalised Banks and financial Institutions will be required to submit 'No Objection
Certificate' from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature
may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any, otherwise admissible, will not
be paid. Original payment receipt will have to be submitted with the call letter at the
time of written examination. Otherwise they will not be allowed to appear in the
written examination.
The reserve category candidate will have to produce his/her original caste
certificate/relevant certificates at the time of interview, failing which his/her candidature
shall be cancelled and he/she will not be admitted for interview. OBC candidates, availing
reservation will have to produce OBC certificate with Non-creamy layer clause issued on or
after 01.04.2009 at the time of interview. Information relating to reservations based on
caste/PWD/XS once filled at the time of registration will be final. No further changes
will be allowed. Candidates are advised to be very careful while filling the category
(SC/ST/OBC/Gen etc.) and other details in the application.
Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct :
Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered,
fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up on-line the
application form.
At the time of written examination / interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:
(i) using unfair means during the examination or (ii) impersonating or procuring
impersonation by any person or (iii) misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the
question booklet / answer sheet from the examination hall or (iv) resorting to any irregular or
improper means in connection with his / her candidature for selection or (v) obtaining
support for his / her candidature by any means, such a candidate may, in addition to
rendering himself / herself liable to criminal prosecution, also be liable :
a) to be disqualified from the examination for which he / she is a candidate.
b) to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or
recruitment conducted by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, State Bank of
India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai.
NOTE : The Bank would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other
appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity. On the basis of such an
analysis, if it is suspected that the responses have been shared and scores obtained
are not genuine/valid, the Bank reserves the right to cancel his/her candidature.
17. General Information :
(i) While applying on-line for the post, the applicant should ensure that he / she fulfils the
eligibility and other norms mentioned above as on the specified dates and that the
particulars furnished by him / her are correct in all respects. IN CASE IT IS DETECTED
AT ANY STAGE OF RECRUITMENT THAT A CANDIDATE DOES NOT FULFIL THE
ELIGIBILITYNORMS AND / OR THATHE / SHE HAS FURNISHED ANY INCORRECT
/ FALSE INFORMATION OR HAS SUPPRESSED ANY MATERIAL FACT(S), HIS /
HER CANDIDATURE WILL STAND CANCELLED. IF ANY OF THESE
SHORTCOMINGS IS / ARE DETECTED EVEN AFTER APPOINTMENT, HIS / HER
SERVICES ARE LIABLE TO BE TERMINATED.
(ii) Applicants are advised to register online themselves.
(iii) The selection of the candidates will be mainly on the basis of written test and interviews.
The Bank reserves the right also to hold skill test / any other test wherever deemed
necessary as well as the right to add, delete or allot any centre at its discretion.
(iv) Admission to written test examination will be purely provisional without verification of
age / qualification / category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS) etc. of the candidates with
reference to documents.
(v) No candidate is permitted to use or have possession of Calculators, Mobile Phones,
Pagers or any other instrument in the Examination Hall.
(vi) The candidate will have option to answer written test questions in Hindi or English
except in General English paper and opt for Hindi at the time of interview.
(vii) The candidates will have to appear for the tests/interviews, at their own cost. SC/ST/
PWD candidates called for INTERVIEW are entitled to IInd class to & fro railway fare/
bus fare by shortest route on production of evidence of travel (Rail/bus ticket/receipt
etc.).
(viii)Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their being found medically fit as per
the requirement of the Bank. Such appointment will also be subject to the service and
conduct rules of the Bank.
(ix) DECISIONS OF THE BANK IN ALLMATTERS REGARDING ELIGIBILITY, CONDUCT
OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION, OTHER TESTS, INTERVIEW, SELECTIONALLOTMENT TO ANY CIRCLE OF THE STATE BANK OF INDIA WOULD BE FINAL
AND BINDING ON ALL CANDIDATES. NO REPRESENTATION OR
CORRESPONDENCE WILLBE ENTERTAINED BYTHE BANK IN THIS REGARD.
(x) All communications will be sent at the address given by the candidate for
correspondence by ordinary post and requests for sending letters to a different address
subsequently will not be accepted. Candidates are advised to make their own
arrangements to get their call letters collected from the addresses given in the
application in such cases.
(xi) The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of call
letters/intimations.
(xii) Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this
advertisement and / or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in
Mumbai and courts / tribunals / forums at Mumbai only shall have sole and exclusive
jurisdiction to try any cause / dispute.
(xiii) Selected candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Service
Regulations of the Bank in force at the time of joining.
(xiv) Candidate’s admission to the test/interview is strictly provisional. The mere fact
that the call letter has been issued to the candidate does not imply that his
candidature has been finally cleared by the Bank.
(xv) The candidates who are already working in SBI in the clerical cadre are not eligible to
apply under this project.
